Special Events

What makes our most important events special is the setting, the service and those seated round the table. The view from the clubhouse of the golf course spreading across the landscape amid California Live Oaks and Cypress, flanked by strawberry fields and framed by the Gabilan Mountains creates an inspired setting. The staff at Crazy Horse Ranch caters to your needs and exceeds yours expectations.

Golf Events

The course at Crazy Horse Ranch creates the setting and opportunity for some spectacular golf events that welcome and support the community. Golf activities include events sponsored by our Men’s Association, Senior Men’s Association and Women’s Golf Association. Couples tournaments are held monthly, which include a three-course dinner after play. The club is also very active in promoting junior golf in conjunction with the Salinas Valley Junior Golf Association, AT&T Junior Golf Association, and First Tee of Monterey County.

California Rodeo Cowboy Golf Tournament

Following a cowboy breakfast at 7am, an 8am shotgun start kicks off the annual Cowboy Shoot Out at The Club at Crazy Horse Ranch. For nearly 25 years this tournament, hosted during the annual California Rodeo Salinas, has been a fun-filled event where rodeo patrons and participants all become contestants on the golf course. Expect some new contests on classic holes throughout the course.

Charlie Culver Junior Masters

For some 60 years, right around Fourth of July, The Club at Crazy Horse Ranch has hosted the spectacular Charlie Culver Junior Masters golf tournament for junior players ages 7-17. Now known as a memorial tournament, the event is named for local golf legend, the late Charlie Culver, one of four founding members of the Junior Golf Association of Northern California, who served as tournament director of his event for many years.

Louis Foletta

On his 72nd birthday, long time club member Louis Foletta played 72 holes of golf. This started a tradition that continues today. Starting at dawn on his birthday each year, the octogenarian plays as many rounds of golf on the legendary 18-hole course as it takes to total his age. Other golfers get in on the game during the day, but only Foletta goes the distance.

The Club at Crazy Horse Ranch hosts social mixers and fun family events or members and friends throughout the year. The Fourth of July is one of many occasions to celebrate the season with food, friends, family and fantastic golf in a fun, theme-based afternoon of activities. Social EventsThe scenic beauty of the course creates an inspired setting.
